Resin stabilized, book matched and CA coated Cocobolo.
There are a lot of hours in this frame. It all starts with shopping and selecting a nice figured piece of wood. Then resawing, planing and cutting out the profile shape. Then the wood is baked for a few days to draw out the oils. Once this is finished it’s put under vacuum in a resin bath, to replace the air. Then it’s placed into an oven to cure the resin.
At this point the build begins. On the end part of the build is the CA coating, which is an additional 1.5 hours just for that process.
This is one nice frame. It includes blue, shadow core liners and stainless hardware.
